Detroit: Become Human Cover Medley - Shawn XG Orchestra

Detroit: Become Human was a fantastic emotional experience through and through. It left me questioning the idea of consciousness and provided an excellent representation of oppression and the struggles the fight towards humanity. As a long time fan of X Japan and Yoshiki, I was very excited to hear that he was doing an opening to attack on Titan with Hyde. Red Swan is a beautiful song that inspired me to make this video along with the classic hard hitting opening for Attack on Titan, 紅蓮の弓矢. Hope you'll enjoy!

Mama Mia! Medley w. Nicholas Yee

Short Film "Like Right Now" RELEASED

Along with The Legend Of Mindi , I also composed for another short film at the same time. This one is called Like Right Now , Directed by Russell Eresmas and Mindi herself Dianne Mahoney. The story tells of Martin, an average guy who learns an important lesson about the consequences of time travelling.

It was hard not to laugh during the recording process but eventually it all worked out and here is the final product! Hope you all enjoy my 80's party music!

Short Film "The Legend of Mindi" RELEASED

Back in July, I composed for a short film called The Legend of Mindi. The film tells a story about Mindi, a gamer, whose quest is to find a job while at the same time, battling her own with difficulties with cognitive and behavioural skills. She associates the challenges and difficulties that she faces along the way with the challenges she faces in video games, and in her own world finds determination and courage.

Now the Storyhive version is finally out! Here it is!

God of War (2018) Main Theme + Brothers of Blood (GoW 3) Orchestral Cover

I spent my 420 putting together this arrangement of the new God of War game, which is not just a masterpiece for the series but for video games and narrative media in general. I loved Bear McCreary's creation for the new entry in the series, the music really added so much emotion and power to the game that is just too intoxicating to not try and involve myself with. Destiny 2 Soundtrack Cover Medley

I promised that this would be out before I left for a 2 week trip to Japan, and now after 2 weeks of writing, going back and forth grabbing instruments (thank you PJ Tan & Son Violin Shop), and writing, it's finally complete! The music is just too epic to not cover!

Destiny 2 in itself is a fun and fantastic game (brilliantly polished and optimized as well), but the soundtrack caught me completely off guard. I was so inspired by it soundtrack that I felt like I had to get involved in it. So I came up with this orchestral arrangement/re-orchestration for some of my most favourite Destiny 2 soundtracks. I hope you'll enjoy!

One thing you guys may not know about me is that I really enjoy gaming. Now that music for me has moved from a hobby to a profession, one of my favourite hobby and past times became video games. This is a merge of both my music and video game interest, a medley of music from the triple A video game series God of War by Sony Santa Monica and composed by Gerard Marino with me playing...everything

MacEwan Composition Concert at John L. Haar Theatre

I've been working with members of the University of Alberta Symphony, MacEwan Music Faculty, and Edmonton Chinese Philharmonic Orchestra to play 2 of my original pieces. One will be for a string quartet, and another one is a blues inspired piece for an ensemble. This is by far the biggest band I've ever put together and I am so happy and so proud of the results that I heard during rehearsals. At the same time, I will be playing in one of my friend's composer's piece. You can catch all the pieces here! It was one of the best experiences of being on stage I've ever had.
